National Diploma (ND) Programme
Overview of Aims and Structure of the Programme
The National Diploma Programme in Business Administration and Management is designed to train young men and women in the principles, procedures and techniques of Business Administration and Management, Marketing, Public Administration. Co-operative Services, and Purchasing and Supply.
In this context, the ND Diplomates should among others, be able to:
conduct a simple structure survey on any aspect of business and make appropriate recommendations to the authority;
identify management problems at appropriate levels, analyse them and design management strategies to overcome them;
interpret and assist in the execution of overall co-operative development policies.
carry out evaluation of investment assets for investment purposes and assist in the analysis of investment proposals;
interpret basic statistical data, and
assist in the preparation of short and long term budget plans.
All these would enable the trained students to contribute to the efficient and effective management of the National Economic Resources.
Departmental Association
Students activities are organised under the banner of the National Association of Business Administration and Management Students (NABUS). All Business Administration Students are required to be members of this Association. The Association’s activities include: organisation of workshops, symposia, public lectures, publication of periodicals and the like, for the purpose of developing competence. In fact, its main aim is to strengthen the confidence of and encourage young men and women in the field of Business Administration and Management.
2. Department of Accountancy
National Diploma (ND) Programme
Overview of Aims and Structure of the Programme
The National Diploma Programme in Accountancy is designed to produce diplomates with a good knowledge of financial operations of different types of business and to lay a good foundation for an Accountancy, Banking and Insurance Career in the Public and Private Sectors. The ND certificate holders may also take up teaching appointments at appropriate levels in schools.
Departmental Association
Activities of Students of Accounting are organised under the banner of the National Association of Polytechnic Accounting Students (NAPAS). All Accounting students are to take part actively in the activities of this Association in promoting and projecting the image of Accountancy Profession in its immediate and remote environment. This is made possible by organising workshops, symposia, public lectures, publication of periodicals and the like, for the purpose of developing competence, strengthening the confidence and courage of young men and women in the field of Accountancy.
